Mistery Blogger Award

Pointless Overthinking, which I discovered a few months ago, has pretty soon became one of my favourite readings online: articles are always interesting, they give very good inputs to think about and food for thoughts for the entire day. Above all, I love the “questions” series, so I can not only answer, but also read the opinions of other people and realise how easy can be to connect with total strangers.

That is why I have been very happy to be included in its list for the Mistery Blogger Award!

Three Things About Myself

1. I published a book in 2014, thanks to a small, independent publishing house in Italy who found the blog I was writing back then and decided to invest in myself and believe in this project;
2. At the age of 30-minus-a-couple-of-months, after a very difficult couple of years, I decided to leave all behind (where “all” included a 3,5 years job, a group of friends, an apartment, a car, and a whole life in a pretty sea city in Italy) and move to Belgium. I’ll keep the reasons for another story 😉
3. I love babies. They are my biggest weakness, together with chocolate 🙂

My answers to the 5 questions

1. What would you sacrifice so your dreams can come true?

Probably, my free time. If I would know for sure that this would lead to the realisation of my dreams, I would be available to sacrifice all my time and work for it non-stop.

1. What is your relationship with pain?

The physical one: I tend to say I have a very low tolerance, but actually when I had to face it I was surprised by myself! The emotional one: I learnt how to manage it. Before, it was pretty bad, I used to end up shattered by pain. Now I give it some time, and then I put myself together.

1. What type of behavior would you consider weird?

Usually, if it is a prolonged way of acting, I find weird the people who constantly try to avoid speaking about themselves or about more “private” (with a limit) topics. Also, I find weird (and rude) the persons who do not really care about public boundaries (I am thinking about colleagues at work having rage crisis in front of everybody, or colleagues at University laughing in the face of other persons because they find them “funny”).

1. How can your writing help others?

I had a concrete proof of the power of writing when I published my book and was overwhelmed by messages of people telling me they were in my same situation and they felt relieved to read they were not alone, or they managed to have a laugh, or to find back a bit of hope. Writing is incredibly powerful.

1. What is the funniest dream you ever had?

I actually cannot remember a funny one! I often have intense, vivid and complicated dreams, but they are mostly scary. I had a couple of funny ones but they did not remain in my memory.
